University of Denver's Public Impact Fellows

Invigorating Communities

Among the inaugural class of Public Impact Fellows are experts from education, international studies, history, hospitality management, Judaic studies, psychology, real estate and construction management, social work and University libraries

If you go looking for it, you can find a lot of knowledge, wisdom and insight between the covers of books and in the contents of scholarly journals.

But what if that knowledge, insight and wisdom are released from captivity, if they are spread around and put to work?

Enter DU’s first cohort of Public Impact Fellows, a 20-scholar team tasked with catalyzing innovation, creativity and progress through the dissemination and circulation of their expertise and research findings. How? Via blogs, social media, op-eds, and radio and television appearances.

The two-year program was launched in 2018 as a partnership between the Office of Research and Graduate Education and the Division of Marketing & Communications, which trains the faculty members in everything from crafting messages for mass audiences to fielding questions from time-strapped reporters.
