The Pioneer ski team’s 2018 national championship continued a DU tradition of achievement at the highest levels.

Enriching The Student Experience
WHEN HE ASSUMED HIS NEW POST as DU’s vice chancellor for athletics, recreation and Ritchie Center operations on May 1, 2018, Karlton Creech promised to pursue “comprehensive excellence.” That means student achievement in every sport and endeavor—on the playing field and in the classroom.

Creech is also committed to preserving program traditions: to capturing national championships (with the 2018 national ski championship, that’s 33 total), to maintaining DU’s status as the country’s most successful Division I program without football, to graduating 93 percent or better of our student-athletes, and to cultivating leadership qualities among each and every Pioneer.
